CELEBRATING THE ARTIST IN ALL OF US since 1960
The South Oakland Art Association was established in 1960 by a group of artists representing a cross section of communities in southern Oakland County, as well as Detroit. Since then, we have had artists join from many cities throughout Oakland, Wayne, Livingston, and Macomb counties. The purpose of this group is to become acquainted with other artists, their styles, and techniques through regular meetings. We share in, and benefit from, each other’s experiences, interests, and artistic pursuits. SOAA is an organization that includes both amateur and professional artists and artisans. This association specializes in a wide variety of visual arts and includes members who have an active interest in the appreciation and promotion of the fine arts. We are a non-profit organization that provides a supportive environment for its members.
